I will write an op-ed regarding this update later tonight. This rush to post is an effort to provide my readers with the absolute latest in this story. The following clip was gathered directly from the wire.

Aug. 31, 2007 – The superintendent of the central Louisiana school district – where six Black students were charged with beating a White schoolmate – says a t-shirt in support of the student is just too disruptive.

On Tuesday, nine students sported “Free the Jena 6” t-shirts at Jena High School, a racial hornets’ nest where nooses hung on a tree by White youths triggered the December 2006 fight that landed the Black students in jail. When school officials saw the shirts, they insisted that they had to go because they caused too much of an uproar.

Mychal Bell, another one of the teens, saw his charge reduced to aggravated battery, for which he was convicted; he now faces up to 22 years in prison. The other four teens are still awaiting trial on attempted murder and conspiracy charges.

La. school officials say the "Free Jena 6" t-shirts are too disruptive and must go.

Massive evidence has come to our attention which shows that the backers, controllers, and allies of Vice President Dick Cheney are determined to orchestrate and manufacture a new 9/11 terror incident, and/or a new Gulf of Tonkin war provocation over the coming weeks and months. SAN DIEGO - Nearly a year after Congress passed legislation calling for the construction of 700 miles of new fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border, about 15 miles have been built, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Bush signed the Secure Fence Act last autumn in hopes that bolstered enforcement would lead the then-Republican-led Congress to pass a broader immigration overhaul.

The plan calls for much of the fencing to be built by the National Guard. But with the administration reducing the number of guard troops on the border by half, to 3,000, by October, labor could be in short supply.

I must correct Hernandez on one point. This, America, is a "conquered occupied nation". Whether the Spaniards, French, and other European gangs stole parts of "the new world" from Mexico or not is beside the point. What is certain is that natives resided here for at least centuries when all of a sudden the European gangs, later to be called Americans, gave them smallpox, killed their livestock, filled them with gunpowder, and stole their property.

I mentioned the "new world". Anytime anyone anywhere, especially in a book, uses that term they are slapping my native brothers and sisters square in the face. That presumptuous, arrogant, dishonest assertion marginalizes the legitimacy of "Indian" society, government, and language. This term is evidence of America's pathological behavior towards native people.

The term "new world" asserts that the natives never existed. Or that their existence is not worth mentioning. You may as well pull a George Washington and call them "savages".

Hey Nancy, would you mind telling Dick—head of all fowl slayers—Cheney to stop shooting birds for sport? My lawyer will accompany you and threaten to lock him up for five years if he continues to open fire (wink, wink).

It appears that U.S. government hypocrisy has reared its ugly head again. Freedom of religion (as long as you were a white "Christian"). Freedom of the press (unless you print inconvenient truths). Now this.

The fact is, either killing animals is wrong or it's not. Then, either torturing animals is wrong, like the birds VP Dick Cheney fires at for sport, or it's not.

It is hypocritical to charge, "no dog fighting!" (BTW, people are rarely punished for dog fighting but strangely, Vick was. Winning in court isn't all (only) about the Benjamin's after all.) but allow the VP (Dick Chaney) to hunt ducks.

You cannot allow the torture of humans via "extraordinary renditions" in black sites but disallow the torture of pit bulls to be punishable by fine and imprisonment.

The fact that this is not going to happen will come as no surprise to those familiar with African politics. Therefore, I will only illuminate one reason why this will not happen.

100% of all of the wealth, resources, and land in the continent of Africa continues to be controlled by Europeans who do not have the people's interests at heart. Most villages in most countries in Africa are far too poor to afford a $1000 computer. They're trying to rummage up $1 dollar for food instead.

Speaking of which, why is there no major grocer implementing the same strategy alleged in this article? I am a community coordinator in Oakland, Ca U.S.A. I can't even get decent TEXT BOOKS in my U.S. city's Public schools! Do not believe for a moment that big business, government, or "non profit" social enterprises are genuinely attempting to assist with the computer literacy in African nations. That's just stupid.

BTW,That was not an opinion; that is an unmitigated fact.

Dick Cheney is; The Man Above the Law

"With the temporary amendment to FISA that the Administration demanded be passed in early August set to expire in a few months, it is essential that we understand how the Bush Administration has interpreted FISA and how it has justified its activities outside that statutory framework. If we are to consider more permanent legislative changes to FISA, this is now vitally important. For Congress to legislate effectively in this area it must have full information about the Executive Branch’s interpretations of FISA. We cannot and should not legislate in the dark while the Administration hides behind a veil of secrecy. Leahy raking the VP over the proverbial coals rings of heroism. He even sent him a subpoena. Pat Tillman would be proud of this. The only question is, where's everyone else?

The Badministration has consistently proven their compelling disdain for the constitution of the United States: Afghanistan invasion, Patriot Act, monarch power to the president, wiretapping, Millitary Commitions Act, voter caging, Libby, Gonzales (and other strategically placed, unqualified liars), now this lack of cooperation with subpoenas (not just this one)!?

The Declaration of Independence speaks about unalienable rights including liberty/freedom.

"That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government... when a long train of abuses... reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

So then the time has come for all who believe in the forefathers, the Declaration, and the Constitution to "throw off" the Badministration. That's how serious these current affairs have become.

Leahy: Cheney Told GOP-Led Congress It Was 'Not Allowed To Issue Subpoenas'

In a press briefing today, Senator Patrick Leahy said that the Badministration’s stonewalling amounted to “contempt." In fact, the 109th Congress was "about to issue subpoenas then and one of the senators came to our meeting and said that the vice president had met with the Republican senators and told them they were not allowed to issue subpoenas."

As a public speaker, it is interesting to watch and listen to Sean Hannity communicate with an opponent of his. I tend to imagine myself in the "Hannity Hot Seat". I try to envision my verbal and emotional responses in a rhetorical battle with the great (eyes rolling) Sean Hannity.

I recognize that Hannity is good at what he does. But what does he do? What makes him so good at it? I will try to let you into my perception of Sean Hannity's strategies. By default you will also take a peak inside of my play-book. I will give you an idea as to how I would communicate with him should he ever do himself the disservice of inviting me on his show. Debaters may post verbal strategies below or just let me know what you think of mine.

The first maneuver I notice in this interview platform, "The Hannity Hot Seat", is that Arianna's chair is noticeably lower than Sean's. This gives the appearance of an unequal relationship in favor of Sean. To the television and studio audience, it appears that King Sean is of greater import than Arianna his subject. I also wonder what type of psychological affect this position has on Arianna.

It has been extensively chronicled that in athletics a great team has an advantage over a challenger based on their past experiences. The mere legend of the great Celtic teams placed them in a power position akin to the way Sean's high chair places him in a power position. Like the Celtics of old, Sean has placed himself in a winner's position before the competition has begun.

One of the next procedures I notice is that once Arianna makes a good point, the first of which happens right after Sean plays her oil ad, Sean changes the focus of the conversation without giving her due credit. Take a look at how this game-plan unfolds.


  • Sean plays the ad
  • Attempts to make Arianna look like a U.S. hater
  • She begins to correct his spin eloquently
  • Sean interrupts her
  • Sean changes the focus of the conversation
The effect of this move is two-fold. One, by ignoring her rebuttal Sean has apparently devalued Arianna's explanation. Two, by changing the focus of the conversation he has maintained the perceived legitimacy of his faulty assessment of the advertisement. So that despite her being in the midst of proving his assessment incorrect, his claim appears justified. This tactic seems to be Hannity's (and others) favorite strategy for defending their appearance against people who rightly disagree with him. It can be a devastating defense because Hannity is not defending his perspective but defaming his opponent's. Therefore, Hannity could be wrong along with his opponent without the viewer ever knowing because Hannity doesn't defend his own position. This strategy is repeated in the above conversation twice.

One of the final gimmicks that I notice is the amount of time afforded Hannity to setup his position and to condescend/slander his opponent versus the amount of time given to his opponent to defend him/herself or express an unscheduled point of view.

In the video example above you will notice how Sean goes on and on about Al Gore, Robert Kennedy Jr., and John Edwards being "hypocritical". As a result of this tactic, Arianna must now defend not only her position but Al, Bobby, and John as well. Well, she doesn't have to; but she feels compelled to.

Secondly, this tactic, provided Arianna takes the bait and defends Al, Bobby, and John, limits the amount of time she has to defend her position and almost completely nullifies any opportunity to go on the offensive and either attack Sean or communicate subject matter that Sean (or his team) did not personally schedule.

The most important lesson that I have learned from this interesting class in rhetoric is that the competitor that sounds the best and looks the brightest is not necessarily hold the correct position.

Rudy Giuliani for President!

In a deplorable case of foot in mouth disease, last week, (Aug 9, 2007) Rudolf The Red Nosed Giuliani said, "I was at ground zero as often, if not more, than most of the workers...”

More disgusting than his initial claim to be as brave as the heroic 9/11 responders was his explanation. “What I was trying to say yesterday is that I empathize with them, because I feel like I have that same risk.”

So basically he’s asking us to forgive him for skimping on the rescue worker’s health. I have but one word for you Rudy; uh-uh.

Rudy is a prime example of U.S. government hypocrisy. The stats prove he was an absolutely horrible mayor whose career was on its way to being forgotten. Then, all of a sudden, 9/11; and every sense that dreadful day he has been capitalizing off of tragedy like… well, like a politician. (The last sentence is not meant to implicate every politician just the collective unconscious.)

What are Rudy’s presidential Qualifications? How is he the republican front-runner? Wake up America! Do not be subject to short/long term memory loss. Remember Rudy’s recent past; Amadou Diallo and the police riot, some say started by Rudy’s incendiary speech, against David Dinkins on the steps of city hall. (There is a bad word in the following clip.)

Remember the 9/11 fire fighters suffered because of Rudy J.

FISA Remixed by Bush-perodoes

The Bush administration enabled by an increasingly incompetent legislative branch, has dealt freedom another crippling blow. Bush's Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act was approved by the House of political horrors and the Senate during weekend sessions.

New provisions afford big brother more opportunities to breach citizen privacy than ever. There is now no, I repeat, no protection for America's calls or emails. Service providers such as AT&T, T-mobile, and Gmail will be afforded zero liability for enabling the government to have a look into your communications.

Also, this bill essentially legalizes what the Bush-perodoes were doing from 2001-2004—eavesdropping without warrants. That was illegal and punishable by five years in prison. Anthony Romero of the ACLU said,

"This congress may prove to be as spineless in standing up to the Bush Administration as the one that enacted the PATRIOT Act or the Military Commissions Act.”

On another note, $460 billion were allocated to the defense budget. Yes, that is a record. Saddle up America; it's hammer time with the Bush-perodoes.

Update: Jena 6 vs Racist Retards

Mychal Bell, a black high school student, faces up to 22 years in prison for a schoolyard fight initiated by white students, who hung three nooses in a tree at the high school courtyard, to warn black students not to sit there. Despite this act of terrorism, heroic black students sat under the tree in solidarity and protest against the hate crime. The DA was called onto the campus to warn the black students that he could take their life away with the "stroke of a pen".

The faculty also dismissed the terrorist threat as a "prank". Several fights ensued in the following days. During one of the fights, a white student was mildly injured. On that day, Six black students, the Jena 6, were arrested. They now face a lifetime in prison.

300 people rallied in Jena Louisiana on 7/31/07 to mobilize, protest, and pressure public officials in favor of the Jena 6. Citizens came from as far as California to show their support, leadership, and commitment to correct this educational and governmental act of terror.

45,000 people have signed a petition ordering DA Reed Walters to drop the charges.

On a related note, the school board chopped down the tree.
